Description
This two-day programme is for health, social care and third sector staff who are Supervisors to develop their understanding and ability to provide meaningful and effective supervision in both clinical and non-clinical environments. It is suitable for all supervisors across services regardless of band and is particularly helpful for those new to a supervisory role and/or those new to the Trust.
You will acquire the knowledge and skills to:
- Outline the importance of supervision
- Carry out more effective supervision sessions using a variety of techniques
- Apply a coaching model to supervision conversations
- Identify, write, evaluate and analyse SMART objectives
- Give and receive effective feedback and manage difficult conversations
The afternoon of Day 1 is designed to complete four eLearning modules. Following the 2 days, delegates complete a 1000-word reflective assignment.

Pre-requisites
Experienced supervisors in health, social care and third sector wishing to refresh knowledge and skills, and those who may be about to supervise others for the first time - We will be discussing general supervision principles applicable to any setting however please be aware we will touch on SABP's supervision policy.
