Description
Senior Healthcare Support Workers help registered practitioners deliver healthcare services to people.
They carry out a range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare tasks, under the direct or indirect supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner, providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare, following standards, policies or protocols.
There are a number of roles available for senior healthcare support workers and therefore, there are different pathways that can be studied.
By the end of the programme, you will achieve:
- The Care Certificate
- Level 2 English and maths (if not already held)
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support
- Completion of 20% off-the-job training
- Collation of a portfolio of evidence
- Meet the skills, knowledge and behaviour requirements and to be consistently working at or above the level required of a senior healthcare support worker.
After a period of working and gaining experience, you may be able to work towards an Apprenticeship which enables you to become a registered healthcare practitioner such as Nursing Associate, Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist.
