Description

The Clinical Practice Educators are offering a one-hour online training event for Care Certificate Assessors.

The Care Certificate is a practice-based programme for support workers. Assessors are the people responsible for making the decision

on whether a support worker has met the standard set out in the Care Certificate.

Who might be an Assessor?
An Assessor is anyone who may be a registered clinician i.e. Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing Associates, Registered Allied Health
Professionals or working in the Learning Disability Services as a Care Home Manager, Deputy Care Home Manager, MyTime Manager or
MyTime Team Leader. It is necessary that every workplace that has Support Workers also has Assessors. It is not just limited to those
with line management or supervisory responisbilities.

What does the training cover?
This training will enable assessors to understand their role and the Care Certificate, recognise the assessment process documentation

and how to assess support workers within their clinical areas.

Benefits to you?
Assessors could also use this training to support their revalidation. You will know you have helped a new Support Worker to complete
the Care Certificate programme. It could be that the Care Certificate becomes a springboard for them to think about what their next step
might be in their career, and you have helped them to shape their plans.

We recognise that key to the success to this programme is ensuring assessors feel supported and confident in completing the

assessment process. Assessors could also use this training to support their revalidation.

Both, new and experienced Assessors are welcome to attend.
